Job summary

West Coast Motors on the Isle of Mull is offering an Apprenticeship for an PCV Mechanic. Earn while you learn while training towards the SCQF Level 7 qualification in Heavy Goods and Public Service Vehicle Maintenance and Repair through GTG Training in Glasgow.

You will learn to service, diagnose and repair a modern fleet of buses and coaches, working alongside experienced mechanics in a safety-conscious, supportive team. Previous experience isn’t required, just enthusiasm and reliability.

Qualifications

• Previous mechanical experience is not essential.
• Enthusiasm, work ethic and willingness to learn are valued above prior experience.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine servicing and maintenance on a modern fleet of passenger vehicles.
• Diagnose and repair mechanical and electrical faults.
• Inspect vehicles to meet safety and legal standards.
• Remove, repair and replace major components including engines, gearboxes and braking systems.
• Use specialist tools and diagnostic equipment.
• Work safely within a professional engineering environment.
