Job summary

West Coast Motors (Glasgow) is seeking a PCV Electrician at our Glasgow depot to maintain and repair electrical and electronic systems on buses and coaches, diagnose faults, and service wiring, lighting, batteries and charging systems.

You will work with a safety-focused team, receive ongoing technical training, have opportunities to progress within engineering, and contribute to high vehicle availability across a varied fleet.

Qualifications

• Experience as Vehicle Electrician, Auto Electrician or similar vehicle electrical role.
• Strong electrical fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Knowledge of vehicle electrical systems, CAN bus systems and ECUs.
• Ability to read wiring diagrams, manuals and diagnostic info.
• Experience using diagnostic equipment and testing tools.
• Good problem-solving and detail orientation.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and repair electrical faults on buses and coaches.
• Maintain, repair and install vehicle wiring, lighting, batteries and charging systems.
• Use diagnostic equipment and software to identify and rectify faults.
• Inspect and test vehicle electrical circuits and control systems.
• Repair and maintain CCTV, destination equipment and telematics systems.
• Assist with upgrades and installation of new equipment.
• Support MOT preparation and vehicle inspections.
• Complete workshop documentation accurately and promptly.
• Work with colleagues to minimise downtime and maximise fleet availability.
• Maintain high safety, quality and housekeeping standards.
