Job summary

Swansea Bay University Health Board is offering an exciting work-based training apprenticeship for a Clinical Nursing Support qualification. Successful applicants will receive protected study time and on-site learning while gaining practical experience under experienced staff.

On completion of the Level 3 qualification, you will transition into a permanent Band 3 Nursing Support Worker role within the Mental Health and Learning Disability Service Group.

Qualifications

• GCSE standard or equivalent required.
• GCSE English & Math C grade or above.
• Must not hold any formal government-funded education qualifications.
• Must not have a degree.

Responsibilities

• After training, communicate effectively with patients, carers, relatives and colleagues.
• Assist in maintaining patients' standards of personal hygiene.
• Support patients' nutritional needs including feeding and fluid balance.
• Observe and report changes in patients to qualified staff.
• Assist in patient investigations and examinations.
• Meet patients' spiritual, religious and social needs.
