Job summary

Aneurin Bevan University Health Board is seeking a Band 3 Healthcare Support Worker to join Bryntirion Surgery's multidisciplinary team in Wales. The role supports patient observations, point of care testing and clinic activities under supervision, in a 30-hour week across five days.

Applicants should have a Level 3 health care qualification or equivalent experience, and be capable of handling multiple tasks with attention to detail, safeguarding, and clear communication within NHS procedures.

Qualifications

• Level 3 qualification in a health care related subject, or equivalent work-based competency.
• Knowledge of safeguarding adults and children policies and confidentiality under GDPR.
• Good verbal and written communication, conveying information clearly and sensitively.
• Ability to work with minimum supervision to a high standard.
• Ability to stay calm in stressful situations.

Responsibilities

• Plan and prioritise your delegated workload within the team.
• Deliver care under supervision following established procedures.
• Record accurate information (height, weight, BMI) in patient notes.
• Support clinicians in chronic disease and other clinics.
• Take and record physiological measurements and perform point of care testing.
• Escalate abnormal findings and ensure QA of testing equipment.
• Attend studies to develop new skills as required.
