Job summary

TKAT is recruiting an Apprentice IT Technician to support school network maintenance and administration across the Essex region. Based at Debden Park High School, the role involves regular travel between regional sites and across TKAT locations, with a full UK driving licence required.

The apprentice will work closely with the regional IT manager to monitor the service desk, assist in IT project changes, and help maintain our Google environment and other IT systems.

Qualifications

• Experience in administering networks, reviewing system logs, backup/AV checks, and general updates.
• Sound understanding of network infrastructure and network hardware.
• Apprenticeship Level 3 information communications technician.
• Eligible for apprenticeship criteria as per attachments.

Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring the service desk for IT issues by reviewing incoming tickets and monitoring progress.
• Follow policies for compliance with organisation obligations (legislation, regulatory and standards).
• Provide feedback to IT Manager and wider team on IT strategy areas.
• Escalate data/cyber security breaches to Head of IT.
• Collaborate with central IT team on Google environment and other IT systems.
• Coordinate with external contractors to ensure successful delivery of changes.
• Identify patterns in requests and identify training or system changes required.
