Job summary

Hawk Hiring LTD in Haywards Heath is seeking an Improver Garage Mechanic with 6+ months of garage experience to progress from basic oil changes to full mechanical maintenance, brakes, suspension, and diagnostics.

Base salary £30,000–£34,000 per year with Monday–Friday 8:00–17:30, 30-min lunch, no weekends. The role offers MOT Licence training funded, generous 28 days holiday (20 + 8 bank holidays), pension and free on-site parking.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of professional workshop experience doing basic maintenance and repairs.
• NVQ Level 2 or Level 3, or time-served equivalent welcome.
• Genuine drive to gain a fully funded MOT Smart Card over time.

• Servicing, suspensions, brakes, minor mechanical repairs, and basic diagnostic checks.

• Hours: Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:30 PM (NO WEEKENDS | 30-min lunch + two 15-min tea breaks daily)

Role Overview

Seeking an Improver Garage Mechanic with 6+ months of garage experience looking to step away from basic oil changes and build confidence in full mechanical maintenance, brakes, suspension, and diagnostics.
