Bishop Vesey's Grammar School in Birmingham is seeking an Apprentice ICT Technician to join our ICT Team and gain hands-on experience supporting ICT services across the Academy. A reliable individual who is willing to learn with an interest in understanding how computer networks, systems and equipment work.

This is an exciting opportunity to begin a career in IT while working towards a Level 3 IT Apprenticeship.

Qualifications

• Enthusiasm, willingness to learn and commitment to developing your skills.
• Previous experience in an IT environment is not essential.
• You will receive training and gain hands-on experience supporting ICT services across the Academy.

Responsibilities

• Support the day-to-day operation and maintenance of the school network.
• Assist with maintaining network servers, including software installation, OS management, fault diagnosis and backups.
• Help maintain network infrastructure, including switches, access points and routers.
• Provide friendly technical support and guidance to students and staff with logging in, email and applications.
• Help create and maintain help sheets, asset registers and technical documentation.
• Assist with the creation, maintenance and management of staff and student user accounts.
• Keep computer rooms tidy and ensure equipment is maintained in line with health and safety requirements.
• Keep up to date with software releases, patches and emerging technologies.

Apprentice ICT Technician

Salary: National Apprentice Rate - currently £8.00 per hour (£15,224.88 per annum FTE)

Hours: 36.5 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

Contract: Fixed-term Apprenticeship Agreement, 13-18 months

Responsible to: Head of IT & Digital Services

Key Responsibilities:
