Job summary

Benugo is seeking an enthusiastic Apprentice Chef to join the Events by Benugo team in London. You will learn culinary basics from food preparation to high-quality presentation while gaining valuable hands-on experience in a professional kitchen.

Under experienced Benugo chefs, you will work toward a Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship. The role offers a full-time pattern, ongoing training, and valuable benefits as you develop your culinary career.

Qualifications

• A keen interest in cooking and professional catering.
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above preferred) – support provided to complete.
• Willingness to learn and work towards a Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship.
• Strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and commitment to training.
• Basic Food Hygiene knowledge or training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and presentation skills.
• Working efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
• Understanding and maintaining food hygiene, safety, and allergen regulations.
• Assisting in the production of high-quality dishes for events.
• Learning to work with fresh, seasonal ingredients to create healthy dishes.
• Supporting stock control, ordering, and kitchen organisation.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be aged 18 or over
• A keen interest in cooking and professional catering
• GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths (Grade 4/C or above preferred) – if not already achieved, support will be provided to complete these as part of the apprenticeship
• A willingness to learn and work towards a Level 2 Commis Chef Apprenticeship
• A strong work ethic, enthusiasm, and commitment to training
• Previous kitchen experience (not essential, but beneficial)
• A Basic Food Hygiene Certificate (if not held, training will be provided)
• Knowledge of food safety, allergens, and hygiene standards
