Job summary

Retail Renault Group is offering an Apprenticeship for an Autocare Technician based in Bristol. You will train full-time in a garage workshop, earning while you learn through GTG Wolverhampton training blocks.

The role covers vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, diagnostics and overhaul work, with hands-on mentoring from GTG and your workplace to develop practical automotive skills. You will complete the Autocare Technician Level 2 and gain an IMI qualification.

Responsibilities

• Based in the garage workshop, learn vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, removal, replacement and overhaul of major components and electrical fault diagnostics.
• Examples of units include materials, inspection of light vehicles, diagnosing chassis components and engines, and health and safety practices.

About The Apprenticeship

The Modern Apprenticeship Programmes allow apprentices to work full time and earn while they learn putting theory into practice within a training environment.

Regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace with dedicated mentors from GTG and the apprentice's workplace, which aims to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete their apprenticeship.

You will train through GTG Wolverhampton, by attending block release training weeks.

What Might a Typical Day in this Job look like?

You will be based within the garage workshop and will be involved in learning all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, removal, replacement and overhaul of major components and electrical fault diagnostics.

Examples of the units covered are:

• Materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices used in the automotive environment
• Inspection of light vehicles
• Diagnosing and rectifying chassis units and components
• Diagnosing and rectifying vehicle engines and component faults
• Ensuring your own actions reduce risks to health and safety
• Contributing to workplace good housekeeping

What qualifications are required?

GCSE Level 4/C or above in Maths, English
