Job summary

GTG Training Limited is recruiting for an Apprentice Autocare Technician on behalf of Retail Renault Group. This is a fantastic opportunity to start your career in the automotive industry while you learn and earn.

You will work full time in a garage workshop, earning while you learn under GTG's Modern Apprenticeship Program, with block release training weeks through GTG Wolverhampton and dedicated mentors to support your progression.

Qualifications

• GCSEs at grade 4/C or above in Maths and English.
• Willingness to learn and kickstart a career in automotive.
• Ability to prioritise and work to timelines.

Responsibilities

• Learn vehicle repair and maintenance in a garage workshop.
• Assist with servicing and MOT preparation.
• Assist in removal, replacement and overhaul of major components.
• Learn electrical fault diagnostics.
• Meet safety and housekeeping standards.

About the apprenticeship

The Modern Apprenticeship Programmes allow apprentices to work full time andearn while they learn putting theory into practice within a training environment.

Regular assessment and reviews will be undertaken within the apprentice's own workplace with dedicated mentors from GTG and the apprentice’s workplace, which aims to ensure they have the required skills to successfully complete their apprenticeship.

Youwill train through GTGWolverhampton, by attending block release training weeks.

What Might a Typical Day in this Job look like?

You will be based within the garage workshop and will be involved in learning all aspects of vehicle repair and maintenance, including vehicle servicing, MOT preparation, removal, replacement and overhaul of major components and electrical fault diagnostics.

Examples of the units covered are:

Materials, fabrication, tools and measuring devices used in the automotive environment

Inspection of light vehicles

Diagnosing and rectifying chassis units and components

Diagnosing and rectifying vehicle engines andcomponentfaults

Ensuring your own actions reduce risks to health and safety

Contributing to workplace good housekeeping

What qualifications arerequired?

GCSE Level 4/C or above in Maths, English

What personal qualities arerequired?
