Job summary
Winbro in the UK is seeking an Applications Engineer to develop and deliver laser and EDM processes for defined customer requirements. Based at our Shepshed facility, you will take processes from development through to deployment on Winbro machine tools, often at customer sites.
The role requires a PhD in engineering/laser, 5+ years in Applications Engineering or R&D, and experience with NC programming. International travel up to 50% will be needed.
Qualifications
- Experience with NC programming and post processors for multi axis tools.
- Strong problem solving and rigour with attention to detail.
- Customer-focused approach and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop NC programming capabilities to enable process delivery on Winbro multi axis tools.
- Design and develop laser and EDM processes for defined customer needs.
- Operate within the technology centre, laser lab, and customer sites to deliver cutting-edge processes.
- Collaborate with suppliers to advance technology and adoption into Winbro applications.
- Provide input to machine tool design teams as the customer representative.
- Deliver technical support remotely and on-site to customers.
- Travel internationally up to 50% when fully trained.
