Job summary

SER-IN in the UK (Leicester preferred) is seeking an Applications Engineer to develop machining processes and deliver turnkey solutions from initial discussions through to customer acceptance. You will design tooling, fixtures and engineering drawings, and create CNC programs using CAM software, including bespoke sub programming.

You will carry out on-machine development, support pre-sales and demonstrations, and join an industry-leading team working with CNC, EDM and laser technologies.

Qualifications

• An engineering degree or equivalent qualification is required.
• Experience with CAD/CAM and producing detailed drawings is essential.
• Knowledge of manufacturing technologies and interpreting complex drawings and tolerances is needed.
• Experience with process development and solving engineering challenges is advantageous.

Applications Engineer Location: UK & International Travel (Ideally based in Leicester)
Salary: £42,000 - £55,000 (DOE) + Company Car + OT + Expenses covered
Hours: 8:15- 5:30 (Monday - Thursday) 8:15-12:30 (Friday)

The Role

• Develop machining processes and deliver turnkey solutions from initial technical discussions through to customer acceptance and sign-off.
• Design tooling, fixtures and engineering drawings using CAD software.
• Develop CNC programmes using CAM software, including bespoke sub programming and custom CNC languages.
• Carry out on-machine process development, probing, testing and machining trials.
• Support technical pre-sales, customer demonstrations and application development.

What We're Looking For

• A relevant engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification.
• Experience using CAD/CAM packages and producing detailed engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of manufacturing technologies and the ability to interpret complex engineering drawings, geometric tolerances and datum systems.
• Experience in process development, research and development, or solving complex engineering challenges.
• Experience with CMM programming, EDM, laser processing, vision systems or 3D printing would be advantageous.
• Self-motivated, hardworking and passionate about engineering, with a practical, hands-on approach to problem-solving.
