Job summary

WR Engineering is seeking a Field Service Engineer to install, commission and service advanced laser micromachining systems across the UK and internationally. You will diagnose faults, perform preventative maintenance and support customers with technical guidance on complex equipment.

The role requires hands-on experience with laser processing, a full UK driving licence, and willingness to travel abroad. A competitive package supports training and career development in a dynamic engineering

Qualifications

Background in laser micromachining or precision laser processing.
Experience servicing complex, high-precision laser equipment is highly desirable.
A full UK driving licence.
Willingness to undertake regular international travel.

Responsibilities

Install and commission laser micromachining systems at customer sites.
Carry out planned servicing and preventative maintenance.
Diagnose and rectify electrical, mechanical and control-system faults.
Fault-find across laser systems, motion control, PLCs, drives and associated equipment.
Carry out machine modifications, upgrades and repairs.
Calibrate and optimise equipment to required operating specifications.
Read and interpret electrical, mechanical and technical drawings.
Provide technical support and training to customers.
Complete detailed service reports and documentation.
Work closely with internal engineering teams to resolve technical issues.
Undertake regular UK and international travel for installations, commissioning and service work.
