Job summary

SER Limited is seeking an Applications Engineer in the UK with international travel, ideally based in Leicester. The role offers a salary of £42,000–£55,000 (DOE) plus a company car, overtime and expenses.

You will develop machining processes, design tooling and CAD drawings, and program CNCs for bespoke solutions to customers worldwide. Key tasks include supporting pre-sales demonstrations and driving R&D to solve complex manufacturing challenges.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent technical qualification.
• Experience with CAD/CAM and detailed drawings.
• Ability to interpret complex drawings, tolerances and datum systems.
• Experience in process development, R&D, or solving complex engineering challenges.
• Experience with CMM programming, EDM, laser processing or vision systems is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Develop machining processes and turnkey solutions from initial technical discussions through to customer acceptance and sign-off.
• Design tooling, fixtures and engineering drawings using CAD software.
• Develop CNC programmes using CAM software, including bespoke sub programming and custom CNC languages.
• Carry out on-machine process development, probing, testing and machining trials.
• Support technical pre-sales, customer demonstrations and application development.
