Job summary

Leicester-based Internal Sales Engineer / Applications Engineer role requiring strong customer-facing and technical-quoting skills. You will act as the front-line contact for customers, developing relationships and handling complex technical enquiries to generate profitable business.

Key duties include processing enquiries, producing costed designs and quotes, following up to secure orders, maintaining product knowledge, and providing pre-sales support while ensuring smooth handoffs between

Qualifications

Minimum 2 years in electrical/technical sales or applications engineering with large OEMs or international customers.
HNC level or above (or equivalent) in electrical, electronic or controls engineering.
Knowledge of MV/HV systems, batteries and generators is advantageous.
Strong IT skills and ability to read/interpret technical data.

Responsibilities

Process customer enquiries via phone, email, and face-to-face interactions; may involve on-site visits.
Understand customer requirements and produce costed designs and solutions.
Prepare quotations/tenders in a timely, accurate manner.
Follow up quotations to secure profitable orders.
Maintain expert product knowledge and provide pre-sales technical support.
Ensure orders are processed quickly; relay design/manufacturing information to relevant teams.
Keep customers updated on order status and resolve issues promptly.
Maintain records of enquiries, quotations, orders and activity; pursue new business opportunities.
