Job summary

Ernest Gordon Recruitment Limited is seeking an Applications Engineer specialising in 5 Axis CNC machines. The role is field-based across the UK, with autonomous responsibility to train operatives and provide technical support.

You will visit sites, troubleshoot issues, build customer relationships and work primarily in the Midlands with some travel and overnight stays. A strong CNC background is essential and product expertise will be developed.

• Experience setting/operating/programming 5 axis CNC machines.
• Ability to train operatives on CNC usage and procedures.
• Willingness to travel across the UK, primarily Midlands.

Responsibilities

Are you an Applications Engineer or similar with experience working on 5 Axis CNC Machines looking for an autonomous, field based role within a leading Machinery distributor who offer the chance to continually develop your skillset, work as a product specialist and multiple bonuses to increase your earnings?

This well-established company are a leading distributor of Machine Tools who have continually grown since their establishment in the 1970s to the point they have a major presence across the UK and Ireland and are now looking to further expand their Applications team.

This varied role will see you undertaking a range of site visits across the UK to provide training for operatives on how to use 5 Axis CNC Machines and answering any relevant queries. You will also be responsible for providing technical support, trouble shooting any issues and further developing customer relationships as you work primarily across the Midlands, with some further travel and staying away required.

This technical role would suit an Applications Engineer or similar from a CNC Machining background looking to be the go-to specialist responsible for training and supporting a diverse customer base across the UK within a leading company offering bespoke development opportunities.

The Role:

• Train Operatives on how to use 5 Axis Milling Machines
• Provide technical support for customers on site, including explaining materials and cutting techniques
• Answer queries, resolve customer issues to further relationships, and liaise with Sales team on findings
• Cover sites across the UK (primarily a regional patch but with some overnight stays)
• Company Vehicle provided- can be used for personal use
