Job summary

DWP Digital is seeking an Application Operations Engineer to join our Centralised Application Support Services (CASS) team. You will monitor performance, respond to incidents and troubleshoot across Linux/Windows servers, cloud and on‑premise infrastructure, databases and third‑party software.

Hybrid working: 40% at home, 60% in a hub. Salary £39,351 with a civil service pension (28.97% employer contributions) and generous holidays.

Qualifications

• Experience communicating technical information clearly to a range of audiences.
• Experience working collaboratively with technical teams to maintain and improve high-quality services for customers and users.
• A proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement, with experience implementing changes that enhance service performance, reliability or ways of working.
• Experience supporting applications or services during incidents, with an understanding of IT Service Management principles and frameworks such as ITIL.

Responsibilities

• Monitor application performance and availability.
• Respond to incidents and troubleshoot issues.
• Coordinate changes and releases, maintain knowledge articles.
• Identify opportunities to improve service delivery and efficiency.
