Applications Engineer – Shape the Future of Innovative Powder Handling Systems

Are you a technical expert with a passion for precision and problem-solving? Do you thrive on creating detailed systems drawings and influencing solutions that drive success? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as an Applications Engineer.

About Us

Material Processing Technology (MPT) is at a pivotal stage of its growth journey in becoming a fully integrated platform, selling the most trusted powder handling and milling equipment in the world. Our brands are include Matcon, Fitzpatrick, Microfluidics and Quadro.

Your Role & Impact

As an Applications Engineer, you will play a critical role in driving strategic projects forward from order to completion. You will work closely with internal stakeholders and customers to ensure seamless execution, while providing expert technical support throughout the process.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed system drawings, rendered images, and utility/project schedules for the sales team.
• Provide high-level technical expertise to customers in advanced sales stages, conducting deep dives into powder handling technologies.
• Produce CAD drawings using Autodesk 2D and Autodesk Inventor software to support sales initiatives.
• Generate accurate equipment costings and contribute to the preparation of sales proposals and quotes.
• Influence strategic projects by leveraging standard products and advising on achievable delivery timelines.
• Assess technical risks and provide solutions for key projects.
• Create efficient tools and processes to streamline system development workflows.
• Support customer visits, factory acceptance testing, and project discussions.
• Continuously build expertise in control systems and control system architecture.

What We're Looking For

• Expertise in AutoDesk Inventor, AutoCAD, 3DS Max, iLogic, and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong knowledge of engineering processes, particularly within powder handling or milling systems.
• Understanding of control systems and their architecture.
• Ability to present complex technical information in a way that highlights business value.
• Highly effective written and verbal communication skills.
• A problem-solving mindset with adaptability to work with standard products.
• Team player with project management skills and the ability to multitask independently.

Qualifications & Experience

• Degree or equivalent experience in Mechanical Engineering/Design or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering/Design.
• Experience in technical sales or solution consulting, ideally within the capital goods industry.
• Strong understanding of plant layouts, P&IDs, pneumatics, hydraulics, and control systems.
