Applications Engineer

Salary: 34-37k + Car + Bonuses etc. OTE 50k


Location: Based from Home - Covering Regionally and UK


Job Purpose

  • Enable the company to provide an efficient and cost-effective level of applications support, training, and turn-key solutions on new and existing machine models, both in-house and at end users.
  • Provide a high standard of technical support to the pre-sales team, including machine demonstrations, machine setting, time studies, process and tooling, and programming to ISO standards.
  • Offer formal training courses, hands-on training, skill development, and after-sales support to staff, dealers, and customers.
Primary Responsibilities
  1. Visit customer sites throughout the UK & Ireland to provide machine setup, prove-out, cutting, and operator training, either as part of a new machine sales contract or as requested by the end user.
  2. Support dealers in your territory by providing machine setup, prove-out, cutting, and engineer training for both new and existing machine models.
  3. Assist the Sales Manager with dealer requests as needed.
  4. Prepare and demonstrate machining methods and programs to solve customers' manufacturing challenges.
Additional Responsibilities
  1. Conduct machine demonstrations as required.
  2. Calculate accurate and realistic cycle time estimates.
  3. Verify machines are installed according to the correct factory specifications.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience working with machinery in an applications or similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of metal cutting, tooling, and cutting processes.
  • Ability to plan manufacturing processes for finished components.
  • Experience with sliding head lathes.
