Job summary

Educato Recruitment are partnering with a growing Alternative Provision in Rochdale to appoint an experienced AP Lead. You will lead high-quality teaching across the provision, support personalised learning, and guide staff in implementing trauma-informed, relationship-based approaches.

The role focuses on safeguarding, progression and successful reintegration of pupils with SEND/SEMH needs. The position is long-term, agency-based with a view to permanent after 12 weeks, offering CPD,

Qualifications

• QTS/QTLS or equivalent teaching qualification.
• Experience in Alternative Provision, SEND or SEMH.
• Previous leadership or management experience within an education setting.
• Strong behaviour management and relationship-building skills.
• Calm, resilient and consistent approach.
• Experience supporting pupils who have barriers to mainstream education.
• Strong safeguarding and inclusive practice understanding.

Responsibilities

• Lead high-quality teaching and learning across the provision.
• Support personalised learning programmes and development.
• Provide leadership and guidance to staff.
• Support pupils with SEND and SEMH needs.
• Manage behaviour through positive, relational, trauma-informed approaches.
• Monitor pupil progress, attendance and engagement.
• Collaborate with parents, carers, schools and external professionals.
• Support safeguarding and pastoral provision.
• Develop positive relationships with pupils and a safe environment.
• Support reintegration and transition when appropriate.
• Contribute to ongoing development of the AP setting.
