Job summary

Jet2.com Limited is seeking an enthusiastic AOG Buyer to join the Engineering Purchasing Team. You will source critical aircraft-on-ground parts quickly to resolve defects and keep the Jet2 fleet moving, working with Maintenance Control and Stores.

If you thrive under pressure and have a hands-on approach, join us to support a leading airline. After training, you will work a 4 on 4 off pattern including days and nights.

Qualifications

• Proven purchasing experience, preferably in aerospace
• Experience in logistics/materials support
• Strong negotiation skills
• Ability to interpret and understand current market conditions
• Operational and hands-on approach

Responsibilities

• Work with Maintenance Control and Stores to support all Aircraft on Ground (AOG) and Acceptable Deferred Defects (ADDs).
• Ensure materials are sourced and delivered within the required time frame.
• Create and implement supplier development plans in line with performance and communication requirements.
• Manage orders and contracts including quote comparisons to ensure cost efficiency and availability.
• Evaluate and report day-to-day progression and identify opportunities for business improvement.
• After training, adopt a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

In this fast-paced role, you'll play a vital part in ensuring critical aerospace components are sourced quickly and efficiently - helping us resolve short-term defects and keep the Jet2.com fleet moving. What you'll be doing:

• You will work closely with Maintenance Control and Stores to support all Aircraft on Ground (AOG) and Acceptable Deferred Defects (ADDs).
• Ensuring materials are sourced and delivered within the required time frame.
• You’ll help create and implement supplier development plans in line with performance, communication and conflict management whilst ensuring all material and logistical requirements are set for maintenance schedules.
• You’ll also be responsible for the progress of orders and manage transactions and contracts which will include quote comparisons to ensure minimal cost and maximum availability of components.
• In addition, you’ll evaluate and report day-to-day progression of areas within the Team and explore opportunities of improvement to the business.
• After a period of training, the AOG Buyer will work a 4 on 4 off shift pattern.

What you'll have:

• Will have proven purchasing experience, preferably in an aerospace environment.
• Experience within logistics/materials support.
• Be able to demonstrate strong negotiation skills along with the ability to interpret and understand current market conditions.
• You will also bring a technical and commercial insight to the role with an operational and hands-on approach.
