You will manage orders from initial enquiry through to delivery, working closely with customers, suppliers, shipping agents and colleagues across the business. You will also help manage urgent Aircraft on Ground (AOG) requirements, where speed, accuracy and clear communication are essential.

This role would suit someone with previous aviation materials experience who is confident negotiating with suppliers, managing competing priorities and taking ownership of orders through to completion.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Act as a key point of contact for the purchase and sale of aircraft spare parts required to support aircraft maintenance.
  • Source and procure aircraft parts in accordance with customer requirements and company procedures.
  • Process purchase requests, purchase orders, sales orders, exchange orders and repair orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Expedite open purchase and repair orders to help achieve on-time delivery.
  • Respond to and manage urgent Aircraft on Ground (AOG) requirements quickly and effectively, including participating in the departmental AOG rota.
  • Obtain and evaluate supplier quotations, prepare cost estimates and negotiate effectively to secure the best available price, lead time and commercial terms.
  • Work with approved suppliers and assist with evaluating potential new suppliers against Gamit’s quality and industry requirements.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with customers, suppliers and other stakeholders at all levels.
  • Communicate professionally with customers and suppliers around the world.
  • Handle aircraft part loans, exchanges, sales, purchases and repairs in accordance with the applicable terms and processes.
  • Coordinate with shipping agents when required to support the timely and compliant movement of aircraft parts.
  • Liaise with the Accounts team regarding invoicing queries and follow up on outstanding matters when necessary.
  • Follow up with customers regarding satisfaction surveys when requested.
  • Understand and comply with applicable export-control requirements.
  • Support and provide cover for colleagues within the Materials & Logistics department when operational priorities require it.
  • Act as deputy for the Materials Manager and Assistant Materials Manager when required and appropriately authorised.
  • Work within Gamit’s ISO 9001 and ISO/IEC 27001 management systems and contribute to their continual improvement.
  • Follow all relevant Gamit policies, processes and procedures.
  • Undertake other reasonable duties requested by management.
What we’re looking for

  • An understanding of aircraft spare-parts processes and relevant aviation terminology.
  • Experience preparing cost estimates and negotiating with suppliers.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage several open orders and changing priorities simultaneously.
  • The ability to work calmly and accurately when responding to urgent AOG requirements.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • A commercially aware approach, with the confidence to negotiate price, availability, lead times and terms.
  • Good numerical skills and confidence working with different currencies and currency conversions.
  • Strong attention to detail when processing orders and maintaining records.
  • A proactive and dependable approach, with a willingness to support colleagues and go the extra mile when necessary.
  • GCSE English and Maths at grade C/4 or above, or equivalent qualifications.
  • A full driving licence and valid passport.
