Job summary

Berneslai Homes in Barnsley is seeking an Anti Social Behaviour Officer to join our Neighbourhood Service. You will manage and investigate low to medium level ASB cases, support families with complex needs, and help tenants sustain their tenancy while improving community safety.

The role is full-time (37 hours per week), permanent, with a focus on customer-centric service delivery and collaboration with partner organisations.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 / BTEC National Certificate or equivalent or relevant experience/transferable skills required.
• Ability to provide customer focused and responsive services.
• Experience of social housing, including ASB or Estate and Tenancy Management or Community Safety related work.
• Demonstrate a positive attitude towards your own development including embracing the personal development review process.
• Experience of working with software applications including Microsoft Office and bespoke IT Systems.
• Understanding of Equality and Diversity in the workplace.

Responsibilities

• Act as an advocate for customers regarding housing related ASB issues and liaise with relevant departments / partner organisations to ensure swift resolution.
• Responsive, proactive investigation of low /medium level ASB, addressing the root cause, ensuring where possible support has been offered and/or exhausted before escalation, preparing quality case files for escalation as appropriate.
• Lead low /medium level ASB cases within the remit of the post, including those with multiple and / or complex needs in line with thresholds and agreed procedures including the utilisation of low level legal interventions, and support Neighbourhood Officers with response to areas of community tension ensuring effective caseload management, prioritising and risk assessing accordingly.
• Building and maintaining effective professional relationships with internal and external partners to tackle and prevent ASB providing specialist advice where required.
• Support continuous improvement and increased satisfaction in relation to the management of ASB.

The Anti Social Behaviour Officerrole:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Neighbourhoodservice as Anti Social Behaviour Officer!

As part of thiskey front-line post, you’ll improve and support our Neighbourhoods for our tenants and the wider community via the effective management and investigation of low and medium level ASB complaints.Support families and tenants with multiple and complex needs and empowering them to make sustainable changes and reduce ASB in order to help them manage their tenancy.
