Job summary

Berneslai Homes, based in Barnsley, is seeking an Anti-Social Behaviour Officer to join the team on a full-time basis. You will investigate ASB cases, advocate for residents, and coordinate responses to prevent ASB while supporting tenancy sustainment.

The role demands experience in social housing ASB, estate/tenancy management or community safety, with strong IT skills and a customer-centric approach. A basic DBS check is required, and the organization offers development opportunities and Agile

The Role

As an Anti-Social Behaviour Officer, you will investigate and manage anti-social behaviour cases to help create safer neighbourhoods and support customers to sustain their tenancies.

You will act as an advocate for customers, resolving housing‑related ASB issues, co‑ordinating effective responses to tackle and prevent ASB, and providing specialist advice where required.

Taking ownership of low and medium‑level ASB cases, you will investigate complaints, address root causes and offer support before escalation. For more complex cases, you will use risk assessments and low‑level legal interventions to help achieve effective positive outcomes.

Additionally, you will:

• Prioritise, risk assess and effectively manage your caseload
• Prepare quality case files for escalation where appropriate
• Build effective relationships with internal and external partners
• Support Neighbourhood Officers with response to areas of community tension
• Assist with continuous improvement and customer satisfaction in ASB management

About You

To be considered as an Anti‑Social Behaviour Officer, you will need:

• Experience of social housing, including anti‑social behaviour, estate and tenancy management or community safety‑related work
• Experience of using software applications, including Microsoft Office and bespoke IT systems
• The ability to provide customer‑focused and responsive services
• An understanding of equality and diversity in the workplace
• A positive attitude towards your own development, including embracing the personal development review process
• An NVQ Level 3, BTEC National Certificate or equivalent, or relevant experience or transferable skills
