Leonardo UK Ltd. is expanding its UK-wide sensor team to develop antennas and RF subsystems for airborne platforms.

The role involves translating system requirements into antenna specifications, performing trade studies, and using CST, FEKO, or HFSS to optimize designs for complex platforms. You'll contribute to the design of antennas, baluns, and frequency-selective components, with opportunities for hardware prototyping and integration across the engineering lifecycle.

Formación

• Degree/Master’s in Physics or engineering or suitable science subject.
• PhD in Physics, Antenna Design, propagation, Electromagnetics or Microwave engineering is desirable.
• Strong design experience in antennas from VHF to micro/mm-wave frequencies.
• Experience in CST/Feko/Ansys HFSS for design and simulation.
• MATLAB for data processing of antenna parameters and results.
• Knowledge of radar cross section simulation and mitigation.

Responsabilidades

• Develop existing products and conduct advanced research for RF antenna platforms.
• Translate system requirements into antenna and RF subsystem specs.
• Perform antenna trade studies and technology down-selection.
• Use EM tools (CST, FEKO, HFSS) to optimize designs for platforms.
• Design baluns, matching networks and feed structures for antennas.
• Support antenna development through the engineering lifecycle.
• Contribute to technical strategy for CDT teams and project planning.
