Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking Senior/Principal RF & Microwave Engineers to join our Edinburgh-based hardware engineering team. You will develop high‑quality RF PCB assemblies and interfaces with digital/embedded control systems, delivering robust performance for radar systems.

We require 3+ years in RF design, strong microwave theory knowledge, and proficiency with Keysight ADS, AWR, CST. This role includes security screening and a hybrid working arrangement.

Qualifications

• First or second degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering (or related science).
• 3+ years in RF circuit design and analysis with microwave techniques and EM theory.
• Proficiency with RF analysis/simulation tools (Keysight ADS, AWR, CST).

Responsibilities

• Create RF PCB assemblies on multilayer substrates with active/passive RF components integrated with digital/analog/embedded control circuits.
• Perform RF circuit design including LNAs, PAs, filters, couplers, switches, oscillators.
• Ensure design reviews are planned, executed and completed successfully.
• Prepare manufacturing data packs and support to subcontractors; interface with manufacturing.
• Conduct laboratory testing, debugging and performance verification to meet requirements.
• Collaborate with mechanical, systems, test and manufacture teams for seamless integration.
• Mentor early career engineers and contribute to technical reviews and standards.
