Job summary

Leonardo UK is seeking experienced RF engineers to join our radar division at Edinburgh or Newcastle. You’ll work on multi‑functional RF, PCB and module designs, applying the latest tools to deliver reliable, high‑performance systems.

This role emphasizes hands‑on design, measurement, and integration across systems, with hybrid working allowed but on‑site presence typical due to security and project needs. You’ll mentor juniors and contribute to rigorous design reviews.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical & Electronic Engineering or related science.
• 3+ years in RF circuit design and microwave techniques.
• Experience with RF analysis/simulation tools (ADS, Microwave Office, CST).
• Hands-on RF/Microwave measurement experience (VNA, spectrum).
• Awareness of requirements management tools (IBM Doors).

Responsibilities

• Develop RF, PCB and module designs for radar products.
• Produce high quality RF/Microwave designs on multi-layer substrates.
• Design and test high performance syntheses, down/up-converters.
• Lead full life-cycle design from requirements to production/testing.
• Assist and mentor placement students, graduates and junior engineers.
• Prepare design review documents and participate in independent reviews.
• Collaborate with Systems, Test and Electronics engineers to resolve integration issues.
