Job summary

Trowers & Hamlins is seeking an AML & Conflicts Assistant on a 6-month fixed term contract in Manchester to support the firm’s client onboarding and compliance processes. You will perform AML checks, conduct due diligence, verify information, and assist with conflicts searches, gaining exposure to risk and compliance within an international law firm.

The role requires strong attention to detail, good communication, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team; benefits

Qualifications

• Graduate or someone with previous compliance experience.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Well organised with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.
• Positive, adaptable and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• This role supports the firm's client onboarding and compliance processes, ensuring AML and conflicts checks are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Assist with AML checks and client due diligence reviews.
• Conduct client and matter research using screening tools and databases.
• Verify information submitted by fee earners and support staff.
• Respond to enquiries and provide guidance throughout the onboarding process.
• Carry out conflicts searches and identify potential issues.
• Support the wider Risk & Compliance Team with administrative and compliance-related tasks.
