Trowers & Hamlins is seeking an AML & Conflicts Assistant to join the General Counsel and Risk team on a 6-month fixed term contract in Birmingham. You will support client onboarding, perform AML checks and conflicts searches, and assist with due diligence under guidance from the Risk & Compliance team.

The role focuses on accuracy, attention to detail and the ability to work independently and collaboratively while building strong working relationships across fee earners and support staff.

Qualifications

• Graduate, or someone with previous compliance experience.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Well organised with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a keen eye for detail and an interest in risk and compliance to gain exposure to AML and conflicts processes within a leading international law firm.

The Role

This role supports the firm's client onboarding and compliance processes, ensuring AML and conflicts checks are completed accurately and efficiently.

• Assist with AML checks and client due diligence reviews.
• Conduct client and matter research using screening tools and databases.
• Verify information submitted by fee earners and support staff.
• Respond to enquiries and provide guidance throughout the onboarding process.
