Trowers & Hamlins is offering a 6-month fixed-term contract to join our Business Intake Team in Birmingham. This role focuses on developing a career in legal compliance, with exposure to AML and conflicts processes within a leading international law firm.

The Role supports client onboarding and compliance processes, ensuring AML and conflicts checks are completed accurately and efficiently. A proactive, detail-oriented approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduate or previous compliance experience.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Able to work independently and collaboratively.
• Well organised with the ability to manage competing priorities.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Confident using Microsoft Office and learning new systems.
• Positive, adaptable and eager to learn.

Responsibilities

• Assist with AML checks and client due diligence reviews.
• Conduct client and matter research using screening tools and databases.
• Verify information submitted by fee earners and support staff.
• Respond to enquiries and provide guidance throughout the onboarding process.
• Carry out conflicts searches and identify potential issues.
• Support the wider Risk & Compliance Team with administrative and compliance-related tasks.
