Job summary

EMED Group invites applications for an Ambulance Care Assistant based in Redhill. This full-time position operates 4 days out of 7 with 10-hour shifts, on a rota between 05:30am and 00:30am, requiring a UK manual driving licence and empathetic patient handling.

You will transport service users to medical appointments and between facilities, build rapport with patients and families, and support handovers to hospital staff, with DBS clearance funded by the company.

Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK manual driving licence.
• Be able to work flexible shifts. Operational hours between 05:30 and 00:30, Monday to Sunday.
• An effective communicator and experienced in communicating in emotionally charged situations.
• Be physically fit for patient handling and moving.
• Pass an Enhanced DBS check (company funded).

Responsibilities

• Transport service users to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities.
• Assist with transporting end-of-life service users with high empathy.
• Build rapport by communicating with patients and their relatives/friends.
• Lift, secure and help service users in and out of the Ambulance.
• Hand over patients to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment centres/hospitals or to family/friends at their homes.
