Job summary

EMED Group is seeking an Ambulance Care Assistant (Renal) to support renal patients and transport them to appointments and between care facilities. Based in Redhill or Crawley, the role operates on a 6 days on, 6 days off rota with shifts from early morning to late night, requiring flexible hours.

The successful candidate will hold a valid UK manual driving licence, pass an Enhanced DBS, and demonstrate empathy, strong communication, and physical fitness to move patients safely within ambulances

Qualifications

• Hold a valid UK manual driving licence.
• Be able to work flexible shifts.
• An effective communicator and experience of communicating with others in what can often be emotional circumstances.
• Be physically fit for patient handling and moving.
• Pass an Enhanced DBS check (company funded).

Responsibilities

• Transport renal patients to and from medical appointments and between healthcare facilities.
• Assist with the transportation of end-of-life service users with empathy.
• Build rapport by effectively communicating with patients and relatives.
• Assist with lifting, securing and helping service users in and out of the Ambulance.
• Hand over patients to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment centres/hospitals or to family/friends at their homes.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an Ambulance Care Assistant (Renal) to serve your local community and join the Ambulance Service as part of our Ambulance crews based in Redhill or Crawley area.

Your main responsibility will be transporting renal patients to and from their medical appointments and between healthcare facilities. This is a full-time role working 6 days on, 6 days off with shifts scheduled between 05:30am and 01:00am. Shifts will be on a rota.Please only apply if you can work these hours.

To be considered as an ACA, you will need to be:

• Hold a valid UK manual driving licence.
• Be able to work flexible shifts. Our operational hours are between06:0am and 00:00am, Monday to Sunday so you will need to work various shifts within these hours (with notice)
• An effective communicator and experience of communicating with others in what can often be emotional circumstances.
• Be physically fit for patient handling and moving.
• Pass an Enhanced DBS check (company funded).

Other duties include:

• Assisting in the transportation of ‘end of life’ service users, ensuring a high level of empathy is present at all times.
