Job summary

EMED Group in Cambridge is seeking an Ambulance Care Assistant to support patients on their journeys to and from medical facilities. The role is full-time, 40 hours weekly, with 05:30 to 00:00 shifts and a UK manual driving licence is required. You’ll work as part of a compassionate team delivering patient-centred care.

You’ll assist with transport, lifting and handovers, ensuring safety and dignity for patients and families, with full training provided.

Qualifications

• UK manual driving licence required (6 points max)
• Able to work flexible shifts between 05:30 and 00:00, Mon-Sun
• Experience in care (HCA, support worker) advantageous

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to appointments and between healthcare facilities
• Assist with lifting, securing and moving patients
• Ensure ambulance is kept safe, clean and tidy during shifts
• Hand over patients to appropriate staff on arrival at treatment centres/hospitals
• Build rapport with patients and their relatives/friends
