Job summary

ESS – Defence, Energy and Government Services, part of Compass Group UK&I, is recruiting a Chef for a full-time role contracted to 35 hours per week to create exceptional food experiences for Defence clients.

You will prepare and serve high-quality meals, lead a kitchen team, implement menu changes, and uphold Hygiene standards while delivering excellent customer service. City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ and a Food Hygiene certificate are desirable, with a flexible working approach essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience supervising a kitchen team.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Flexible approach to working hours and duties.

Responsibilities

• Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights clients and customers.
• Overseeing and implementing menu changes.
• Identifying opportunities to improve food services.
• Listening to customer feedback to improve services.
• Supporting creation of new menus and creative concepts.
• Representing Defence and maintaining a positive brand image.
• Monitoring inventories to keep kitchens stocked.
• Overseeing kitchen cleaning to maintain hygiene standards.
• Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health & Safety regulations.
