Job summary

ESS – Defence, Energy and Government Services, part of Compass Group UK&I, is hiring a Chef to prepare high-quality food for Defence clients across the UK. You will lead kitchen duties, manage menus, and ensure excellent customer service while maintaining strict hygiene standards.

You should hold City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ, have experience supervising a team, and possess a Food Hygiene certificate.

Qualifications

• Be passionate about great-tasting food and exceptional customer service.
• Hold a City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent.
• Have experience supervising a team.
• Have experience in a similar Chef role.
• Hold a Food Hygiene certificate.
• Have a flexible approach to working.

Responsibilities

• Prepare delicious, high-quality food that delights clients.
• Oversee and implement menu changes.
• Identify opportunities to improve food services.
• Listen to customer feedback to improve services.
• Support creation of new menus and concepts.
• Represent Defence and maintain a positive brand image.
• Monitor inventories to keep kitchens stocked.
• Oversee kitchen cleaning to maintain hygiene.
• Comply with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.
