Job summary

Compass Group UK&I in the Defence, Energy and Government Services sector seeks a Chef to work full-time (35 hours per week) delivering high-quality meals for Defence clients. You will prepare meals, lead menu changes, and help drive improvements while ensuring strict hygiene and safety standards across the kitchen.

The ideal candidate holds City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ, a Food Hygiene certificate, and proven leadership in a chef role, with a passion for great food and service.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent required.
• Food Hygiene certificate required.
• Proven experience supervising a culinary team.
• Experience in a similar Chef role within catering.
• Passion for high-quality food and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Preparing delicious, high-quality food for Defence clients.
• Overseeing and implementing menu changes.
• Identifying opportunities to improve food services.
• Listening to customer feedback to drive improvements.
• Supporting creation of new menus and concepts.
• Representing Defence and maintaining a positive brand image.
• Monitoring inventories and maintaining hygiene standards.
• Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health & Safety regulations.
