Job summary

City of Doncaster Council is hiring two Ambition Coachs to support adults with learning disabilities and neurodiversity into paid employment. Based at the Civic Office, Doncaster, the role is 37 hours per week on a fixed-term contract until 30 November 2028 with potential extension.

Hybrid working involves three days in the office. You will work with colleagues, employers and community partners, using the SEQF framework to deliver person-centred support and essential employability coaching

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of the 5-stage SEQF framework and willingness to undertake training.
  • Experience delivering coaching to adults with learning disabilities or neurodiversity.
  • Ability to build trust with candidates, families, and employers.
  • Caseload management and maintaining accurate records.
  • Excellent collaboration across services and partners.
  • Flexibility to travel across Doncaster for meetings.
  • Hybrid working with 3 days in the office.

You’ll work alongside colleagues, employers, and community partners to help adults with a learning disability and/or who are neurodiverse move towards and into paid employment. Together, we follow the 5-stage Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF) to ensure every candidate’s journey is structured, strengths-based, and tailored to their individual aspirations.

Duties include:

Working with vulnerable adults with learning disabilities, learning difficulties, neurodiversity, or other barriers to employment.

Understanding the Supported Employment Quality Framework (SEQF) and a willingness to undertake training in the 5-stage model.

The ability to build trust and rapport with candidates, families, and employers.

Managing a caseload, delivering regular coaching sessions, and maintaining accurate records.

Knowledge of employability skills such as CV writing, interview techniques, and job searching strategies.

Experience or confidence in providing job coaching in real workplace settings to support candidates in becoming independent.

Team working skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across services and contribute to shared planning and outcomes.

Being organised with the ability to work independently and prioritise tasks.

Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusion to promote independence and wellbeing through employment.

Use of digital tools for communication and accurate record-keeping.

Flexibility to travel across Doncaster to meet candidates and employers in community and workplace settings.

This role is hybrid working, typically involving 3 days in the office subject to service requirements.
