Job summary

TQR Consultancy Ltd is seeking Mechanical Assemblers to join a Plymouth-based manufacturing team. You will perform detailed mechanical assembly, quality checks, and test hydraulic units to match customer specifications.

The role requires numerical aptitude, initiative, and a focus on safety and accuracy. You will operate on a rotating shift pattern with a 20% premium for night shifts and enjoy a pension after 3 months, plus 25 days holiday and bank holidays.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Assemble hydraulic pumps and/or motors according to SOPs.
• Ensure products meet quality and safety specs.
• Test units to customer specs after training.
• Complete required paperwork promptly and accurately.
• Hit hourly production targets and maintain production controls.
• Log breakdowns and communicate issues to supervision.
• Maintain 5S standards and seek continuous improvement.
• Support production as needed.
• Carry out daily checks per procedures.

Job description

Mechanical Assemblers required for large manufacturer based in Plymouth. The successful candidate will be required to carry out detailed mechanical assembly, quality control and have an excellent eye for detail. Key Responsibilities

• Assemble hydraulic pumps and/or motors in accordance with Company wide Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
• Ensure all products are assembled in accordance with the Company's quality and health and safety specifications.
• Test hydraulic units to customer specific specifications (further to specific training.
• Complete all required paperwork in a timely manner.
• Responsible for achieving hourly production targets.
• Ensure production controls are adhered to.
• Understand KPI's and achieve production targets.
• Communicate breakdowns or machine abnormalities to supervision and maintenance, log breakdowns on the main database.
• Maintain good 5's standards within your area of work and look for methods for continuous improvements.
• Exhibit flexibility to support production.
• Perform daily checks in accordance with the Company's production engineering and quality procedures.

Essential Experience & Candidate Attributes Required

• Proven Assembly experience within a fast paced manufacturing or engineering environment.
• Ability to work to set production targets.
• Ability to follow written instructions coupled with the ability to complete production related paperwork in a timely manner.
• A proactive, flexible and adaptable attitude.
• The ability to work well as part of a team and under own initiative.
• A problem solving mindset.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

• An Engineering based qualification would be highly beneficial.
• Expeirence using analogue and digital measuring equipment such as verniers, micrometers, drop / height gauges would also be highly beneficial.

• 20% shift premium for working static night shift (please note the salary advertised above is inclusive of this shift premium).

The successful candidate will be working a weekly alternating shift of Monday to Friday 06:00 to 14:00 and Monday to Friday 14:00 to 22:00.
