Job summary

Edge Recruits is assisting a Plymouth-based manufacturer to recruit Assembly Operatives for a secure, long-term role. You will join a global engineering business, assembling mechanical and electrical components and participating in testing of pumps and motors.

Rotating shifts 06:00-14:00 and 14:00-22:00, Monday to Friday, with training provided and genuine progression opportunities. The salary is £33,487.74 per year.

Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience in manufacturing, production, or assembly.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Reliable attendance and ability to work rotating shifts.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical and electrical components to precise specifications.
  • Carry out washing, lapping, assembly, testing, and painting.
  • Follow detailed instructions to meet quality standards.
  • Adhere to health, safety, quality and environmental procedures.
  • Maintain a clean, organized workspace and support the team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble mechanical and electrical components to precise engineering specifications.
  • Carry out various production processes including washing, lapping, assembly, testing, and painting.
  • Work from detailed instructions to deliver products to the highest quality standards.
  • Ensure all health, safety, quality, and environmental procedures are followed.
  • Contribute to a positive team environment while maintaining a clean and organised workspace.
About You

Essential:

  • Minimum 2-3 years consisrtant experience within a manufacturing, production, or assembly environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
  • A positive attitude and willingness to learn new skills.
  • Reliable attendance and the ability to work the rotating shift pattern.

Desirable:

  • Mechanical or electrical assembly experience.
  • Experience working to technical drawings or detailed work instructions.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
