Job summary

Equal-Teaching is seeking a compassionate Additional Learning Needs (ALN) Teaching Assistant to support children and young people aged 3–19 in a specialist ALN school environment in Wales. The role offers daily pay at £90–£100 and requires Child and Adult DBS clearance.

You will work closely with teachers and SENCOs to deliver tailored support, promote inclusion and build student confidence across ages 3–19.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with ALN.
• Calm, patient and caring with a flexible and positive approach.
• Works well as part of a team in a specialist setting.
• Committed to safeguarding and inclusive practice.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with autism, communication difficulties and ALN.
• Provide tailored one-to-one and small group support per development plans.
• Support speech, language and differentiated learning activities to boost engagement.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and classroom inclusion.
• Foster pupil independence, self-esteem and social confidence.
• Collaborate closely with teachers, SENCOs and specialist staff.
