Job summary

Equalteaching is seeking a compassionate and dedicated ALN Teaching Assistant to support children and young people aged 3–19 with a range of additional learning needs in a specialist ALN school.

The role involves one-to-one and small group support, aiding speech and language activities, promoting positive behaviour and inclusion, and collaborating with teachers, SENCOs and support staff. A Child and Adult DBS is required for this position.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children or young people with ALN.
• Calm, patient and caring with a flexible approach.
• Team player in a specialist setting with safeguarding focus.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils with ALN, including autism and communication needs.
• Provide one-to-one and small group support.
• Assist with speech and language activities to boost engagement.
• Promote positive behaviour, emotional regulation and inclusion.
• Foster independence, self-esteem and social confidence.
• Collaborate with teachers, SENCOs and specialist staff.
