Job summary

Equal Teaching is seeking an ALN Teaching Assistant to support learners with additional learning needs in a Further Education setting. You will help learners build confidence, independence and essential study skills, working 1:1 and in small groups under the direction of lecturers and tutors.

With a patient, empathetic approach and good teamwork, you will adapt teaching materials, monitor progress and assist with personal care where required.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting learners with additional learning needs (education, care or similar).
• Patient, empathetic and adaptable approach is essential.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• DBS check enhanced preferred or willingness to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support to learners with diverse needs.
• Support lecturers and adapt materials to individual needs.
• Help learners develop independence and essential life/study skills.
• Monitor and record learner progress and liaise with staff.
• Assist with personal care where required per individual plans.
• Support learners during practical sessions, work placements and enrichment activities.
