Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking experienced ALN Teaching Assistants to support pupils with additional learning needs and challenging behaviour across Rhondda Cynon Taff, Merthyr Tydfil and Caerphilly. Roles include 1:1 and small-group support inside busy school environments.

You will work with teachers and SENCOs to implement individual strategies, help pupils regulate emotions, and promote safe, inclusive learning.

Qualifications

• Experience in SEN/ALN or challenging behaviour support.
• Ability to build trusting relationships with pupils.
• Flexible across multiple schools and settings.
• Knowledge of safeguarding and behaviour plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with ALN and behavioural needs.
• Support pupils displaying challenging, distressed or dysregulated behaviour.
• Help pupils regulate emotions and access learning.
• Work with teachers and SENCOs to implement support strategies.
• Promote safe, inclusive learning environment.
• Follow individual behaviour plans and maintain boundaries.
