Swansea Central
Full-Time | Monday to Friday
£92.63 per day via Teaching Personnel
Driving licence and access to a vehicle essential

We're working with a welcoming and inclusive primary school that places children's wellbeing, resilience and personal development at the heart of everything they do. The school is dedicated to creating a nurturing environment where every pupil is encouraged, supported and celebrated for their individual strengths.

As an ALN Practitioner, you'll work closely with class teachers and the wider support team to help pupils access learning and thrive in school.

You may support children with:
  • Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
  • Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs (SEMH)
  • ADHD
  • Speech, Language and Communication Needs (SLCN)
  • Moderate Learning Difficulties (MLD)
  • Emotional regulation and behavioural needs
  • Anxiety, confidence and social interaction difficulties

Every child is different, which makes this role both exciting and incredibly rewarding.

No two days are ever the same!

You could be:
  • Supporting a pupil 1:1 in the classroom
  • Delivering targeted intervention sessions
  • Helping children regulate emotions and build confidence
  • Encouraging engagement with learning activities
  • Supporting pupils during break and lunch times
  • Assisting with literacy, numeracy and creative tasks
  • Using positive behaviour strategies to help children succeed
  • Celebrating every achievement, no matter how big or small

You’ll become a trusted adult for pupils who often need consistency, encouragement and someone who believes in them.

Working within ALN support gives you the opportunity to see genuine progress every day.

  • Helping a child communicate their needs for the first time
  • Supporting a pupil to build friendships and confidence
  • Watching children overcome barriers and celebrate success
  • Being part of a team that makes a lasting difference

For many pupils, the support you provide can have a huge impact on both their educational journey and personal development.

You do not need previous school-based experience to apply.

We are particularly interested in candidates with transferable skills from:

  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Confidence working with children on a 1:1 and small-group basis
  • Resilience and adaptability
  • A genuine passion for supporting young people
  • A driving licence and access to a vehicle

The school is actively interviewing and trialling candidates, so don't miss out on this fantastic opportunity.
