Job Description:

We are looking for a dedicated and compassionate ALN Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our team and work within a Special Resource Base (SRB) class in a Primary school in Barry.

Role Overview:
As an ALN LSA, you will work within a supportive team to assist a class of 10 pupils, each with diverse needs. Your responsibilities include supporting daily classroom activities, promoting emotional well-being, assisting with personal care, and helping students achieve their learning goals. You will collaborate closely with the class teacher and other LSAs to provide tailored support, ensuring a safe and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Support a class of 10 pupils with various ALN and behaviour challenges.
2. Work alongside the class teacher and other LSAs to deliver individualised support.
3. Assist with emotional well-being and help develop life skills.
4. Support students with personal care tasks as needed.
5. Implement and monitor individual learning plans (ILPs).
6. Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for all pupils.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

1. Proven experience working in a Primary School setting, ideally with children with ALN and behavioural challenges.
2. Strong understanding of the needs of children with ALN, including social, emotional, and behavioural support.
3. Experience supporting students requiring additional learning and developmental support.
4. Must hold an enhanced DBS check.
5. Must be registered with the Education Workforce Council (EWC).
