Vision for Education is seeking to appoint an ALN Support Assistant to work in local ALN schools/Units in the Llanelli/Carmarthenshire areas on a full-time or part-time basis starting as soon as possible.
A Learning Support Assistant (LSA) for children with Profound and Multiple Learning Difficulties (PMLD) plays a multifaceted role, including academic support, personal care, and communication facilitation. Responsibilities include assisting with daily routines, providing individualised learning support, and liaising with teachers, parents, and professionals to meet students' needs.
The successful candidate will build positive relationships and provide specialist support in classroom settings to cater to children with special educational needs and disabilities. The role requires flexibility, creativity, and excellent communication skills to engage pupils effectively. Patience, enthusiasm, resilience, and motivation to promote the child's progress are essential qualities.
If you have experience working in education settings supporting children with additional needs or relevant qualifications such as ELSA, Precision Teaching, Floppy Phonics, Visual Supports for Autistic Spectrum Conditions, PEIC-D, sensory training, Elklan, Forest School, or Manual Handling, we are interested in hearing from you.
Requirements include a desire to work with children with SEND, caring and nurturing qualities, and motivation, dedication, and resilience.
