Job summary

Solihull Community Housing is seeking an experienced Allocations & Lettings Team Leader to join our Housing team. You will oversee day-to-day management of the Allocations and Lettings team, ensuring homes are allocated fairly, efficiently and in line with policy and legislation.

As a leader, you will coach staff, monitor performance, and drive improvements in customer experience, working with partners to ensure timely lettings and compliant housing services.

Qualifications

• Experience in housing allocations/lettings or similar housing service.
• Experience supervising or leading a team.
• Good knowledge of housing legislation, policy and best practice.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

What You Will Be Doing

• Leading, coaching and supporting a team of allocations and lettings officers.
• Monitoring performance and helping the team achieve targets.
• Overseeing allocation and lettings processes from application through to tenancy sign-up.
• Working with partners and colleagues to ensure homes are let quickly and effectively.
• Managing complex cases and responding to customer enquiries.
• Identifying opportunities to improve services and customer experience.

What We Are Looking For

• Experience of working within housing allocations, lettings or a similar housing service.
• Previous experience of supervising or leading a team.
• Good knowledge of housing legislation, policy and best practice.
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
• A customer-focused approach and a passion for delivering high-quality services.
• The ability to manage competing priorities and work confidently under pressure.
