Job summary

The Society of St James (SSJ) Alcohol Service in Southampton is seeking a Support Worker to join our busy team. You will work 37 hours per week (Mon–Fri) with one weekend every five weeks, supporting clients with recovery goals in a structured housing setting.

The role requires compassion, reliability, and the ability to work in a person-centred way. You will contribute to multi-disciplinary service delivery and help clients progress toward independent living.

Qualifications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work with at-risk clients in a supportive setting.
• Experience in person-centred service delivery is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Work directly with clients to achieve goals identified in support plans.
• Produce risk assessments and record all incoming monies per procedures.
• Promote recovery and healthy lifestyle choices for service users.
• Deliver group work activities in the centre, including cooking and budgeting.
• Support service users to participate in activities and life-skills.
