Job summary

WR Logistics in the UK is seeking an experienced Air Freight Business Development Manager to grow profitable air freight business across the UK from Heathrow.

You will develop a strong sales pipeline, manage end-to-end sales cycle, negotiate rates, and work with operations to implement new accounts. Some travel to Birmingham and international travel may be required.

Competitive salary £50,000–£70,000 plus uncapped performance bonus, with 25 days leave, pension, private medical and other benefits.

Qualifications

• Established freight forwarding sales professional with a track record of winning new business.
• Strong air freight business development experience.
• Knowledge of air freight pricing, margins and operational requirements.
• Excellent negotiation, presentation and relationship-building skills.
• Commercially focused and results-driven.
• Ability to manage your own diary and sales pipeline.
• Excellent organisation and time-management skills.

Responsibilities

• Identify and secure profitable new air freight business
• Develop and manage a strong pipeline of prospective customers
• Manage the complete sales process from initial contact through to account implementation
• Prepare quotations, tenders, RFQs and tailored logistics solutions
• Negotiate rates and commercial agreements with customers
• Build lasting relationships with customers, overseas offices and internal teams
• Work closely with operations to ensure new accounts are implemented successfully
• Achieve agreed gross profit, volume and new-business targets
• Maintain accurate sales activity and pipeline information through the company CRM
