Job summary

Skilled Careers is seeking an Air Conditioning Service Manager in Stevenage to lead a growing AC department. You will manage engineers, support delivery, oversee service, PPM, reactive and remedial works, and influence pricing and larger projects.

The role requires a strong commercial AC background, hands-on leadership, and experience with technical issues, supplier liaison, and client relationships. A van or car allowance and other benefits are provided as part of the package.

Qualifications

• Strong commercial air conditioning experience.
• Excellent technical knowledge of AC systems, servicing and fault finding.
• Experience managing or supervising engineers.
• Experience pricing service, remedial and small works.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Experience with major AC manufacturers, including Mitsubishi.

Responsibilities

• Manage, develop and support a team of AC Engineers.
• Provide technical support and guidance on fault finding and complex issues.
• Review engineer reports and identify remedial works and commercial opportunities.
• Manage service, reactive, remedial and PPM works.
• Monitor workloads and ensure timely completion of tasks.
• Price and quote for servicing, reactive works, remedials and small installations.
• Assist planning, costing and delivery of larger AC projects.
• Coordinate labour and subcontractors as required.
• Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers regarding parts and lead times.
• Manage service contracts and PPM requirements.
• Support recruitment, training and development as the department grows.
• Maintain strong client relationships and attend technical meetings as needed.
• Help improve processes, reporting, efficiency and profitability.

Air Conditioning Service Manager

Location: Stevenage

Salary: £53,000-£60,000 DOE + Van or Car Allowance

Are you an experienced Air Conditioning professional ready to take the next step into a key leadership role?

We are looking for a technically strong and commercially minded Air Conditioning Service Manager to lead and develop a growing AC department based in Stevenage. This is a hands-on management role, giving you the opportunity to manage engineers, support technical delivery, oversee service and reactive works, and play a key part in the continued growth of the department.

The Role

You will be responsible for managing and supporting a small team of Air Conditioning Engineers, ensuring service, PPM, reactive and remedial works are planned and delivered efficiently. Alongside the operational side of the role, you will also be involved in pricing, quotations, small works and larger project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Managing, supporting and developing a team of AC Engineers

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate will come from a strong commercial air conditioning background and have previous experience as a Service Manager, Senior Engineer, Supervisor or similar.

Qualifications and Experience

• Strong commercial air conditioning experience
• Excellent technical knowledge of AC systems, servicing and fault finding
• Experience managing or supervising engineers
• Experience pricing service, remedial and small works
• A good understanding of PPM contracts and service requirements
• The ability to interpret engineer reports and produce accurate quotations
• Commercial awareness of labour, materials, margins and project costs
• Strong organisational and communication skills
• Knowledge of relevant AC legislation, regulations and industry requirements
• A full UK driving licence
• Experience with major AC manufacturers, including Mitsubishi, would be advantageous.
